[Beautiful Skyline of San Francisco created by my good friend John Hartong]

  • The San Francisco Public Library has its catalog and other resources online.

  • There's no better place in San Francisco for radically political, multicultural, gay/lesbian, and Spanish-language books dealing with the above topics than Modern Times Bookstore, located in the Mission District.

  • The Booksmith has served SF's Haight-Ashbury community since 1976, and frequently hosts interesting readings.

  • There are always interesting events and tons of books at A Clean Well-Lighted Place for Books.

  • The Berkeley Public Library has a nice site going with lots of community information.

  • Stacey's provides the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley's largest professional bookstores.

  • A Different Light specializes in Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender literature.

  • The First Page is "a booklover's guide to the San Francisco Bay Area".
